Something happened to me a few months ago that I was reminded of today. The Song “I Can’t Make You Love Me” sung by Bonnie Raitt always made me cry, without fail. I would flash back to all of the failed romances and loves in my past and cry for their loss. I would lament of the choices I made and wonder what if….

Recently the song came on my iPod and I was filled with love and happy memories. How much I loved these women and how much they meant to me. How lucky I was to have know them then and still know them. I heard it again today.

They were not being malicious or cruel, they were doing what they needed to do in order to make themselves happy. How can I fault them for that?

As I am learning to live and love again, I am constantly amazed by the effect perception has on every situation.

When my ex told me it was over, she was doing what she needed to do to be happy. I am glad she did it, because my perception changed and I realized I was not happy either.

This complete change in my perspective has let me be happy in away I had not experienced.

Change your perspective and change your life. It is a decision only you can make.
